Hamed Soleimanzadeh, Jury Member of the 39th Warsaw International Film Festival
Hamed Soleimanzadeh, an Iranian filmcritic, filmmaker, and researcher , has been selected as a member of the jury for FIPRESCI AWARD (the International Federation of Film Critics) at the Warsaw International Film Festival in Poland
The 39th edition of the Warsaw International Film Festival is scheduled to take place from October 6 to 15, 2023 and will feature screenings of more than 40 feature and short films from 25 countries across various categories. This festival is one of the oldest and most prestigious film festivals in Eastern Europe and has consistently showcased works from the realm of independent, experimental, and alternative cinema worldwide
Soleimanzadeh's colleagues on the FIPRESCI jury include MIKE NAAFS (a Dutch critic) and DINU-IOAN NICULA (a Romanian critic). It is worth noting that Hamed Soleimanzadeh is the sole Iranian filmcritic on the international stage who has served as a jury member in more than twenty renowned global film festivals, including Cannes, Berlinale, Karlovy Vary, and the Golden Globe Awards, among others, making him a record holder in this regard.
During this festival, Soleimanzadeh will also conduct various educational workshops for young international critics, focusing on the nature of protest cinema, feminist cinema, and independent cinema in Iran
